It’s just past 5 a.m. here in Oslo and I’m itching to go for a run. I’m also tapering, which I don’t normally do before a half. I’ve also been traveling so much. Thanks to an insanely long layover in London, it took 26 hours to get to Oslo from Seattle. I lost even more time because of the time change.

I did head out yesterday morning into the cold dark Oslo street. No path in mind, just to explore the city. The pace was far from impressive thanks to the constant photo taking, but it was an easy five mile run that also served to introduce us to the deceptively hilly Oslo.

It was cold, but not freezing. I think I’m ready for the Polar Night Half….
